Toulouse and The Orchids

This painting was inspired by a photo I took of my first cat Toulouse when she was a cute and playful little kitten hiding behind an orchid potted plant on the dining room table.

Toulouse was my very first cat. She is no longer with me. I like to think she is cuddling on clouds and chasing shooting stars. I will forever love her.
The very first strokes looked like this. Honestly, I get very anxious at this stage of my paintings because my mind plays tricks on me and I have to convince myself that I can do this and that it will eventually look good.
